When I first experienced the Stride process, I was blown away. The questions asked in their intake form, the scanner, the gait analysis - it all mirrored what I was doing in clinic. I can now remotely offer my patients orthotics that adhere to full podiatry standards.

Why Gait Analysis Matters
Gait video is a essential diagnostic tool. Our Podiatry team reviews your video to check for issues such as the following:
- Pronation/Supination - Determines how much medial/lateral correction to build into your pair
- Heel Strike pattern - Identifies where exactly does your heel land on impact to dictate rear foot cushioning and a deeper heel cup.
- Knee and hip alignment - How your knee tracks as you walk to inform arch height.
Gait Analysis
What your gait reveals
Scan each category and find where you land. This is what we use to design your pair.
Pronation
Overpronation
Foot rolls inward. Inner edge of sole wears first.
Neutral
Foot rolls evenly. Balanced sole wear.
Supination
Foot rolls outward. Outer edge wears first.
Heel strike
Heel striker
Lands on heel first. Needs rear cushioning and a deeper heel cup.
Midfoot
Even, efficient landing. Balanced load across the foot.
Forefoot
Toe-first landing. Higher load on the ball of the foot.
Toe-out angle
Neutral
Feet point straight ahead. Efficient load transfer.
Toe-out
Feet splay outward. Common with flat feet and overpronation.
Toe-in
Feet point inward. Can indicate hip rotation issues.
Left vs. right
Balanced
Both feet load and move evenly.
Asymmetric
One side compensating for the other. Each foot gets its own prescription.
Hip drop
Level
Hips stay even during stride. Strong glute stabilization.
Mild drop
One hip dips slightly. Often causes knee tracking issues.
Significant drop
Pronounced tilt each step. Linked to lower back and hip pain.
