Do Orthotics Help Bunions
Orthotics serve as an effective option for managing bunion pain and discomfort...
A bunion is a bony bump that forms on a joint, usually at the base of the big toe. This often occurs when bones in the front part of the foot move out of their regular position, causing the big toe to get pulled toward the smaller toes. It also forces the joint at the base of the big toe to stick out. In many cases, the skin over the bunion will change in color and feel sore. Tight, narrow shoes can contribute to bunions or make them worse, although they can also form due to the shape of the foot, a foot defect or conditions such as arthritis. Tackling bunions early and providing proper foot support can help slow progression, alleviate pain and improve mobility.
